Governors

Perseid School is fortunate in having a dedicated Governing Body that follows exemplary procedures in fulfilling its statutory duties. The effectiveness of the Governing Body was recognised with the award of the national Governor Quality Mark in June 2010, renewed in Autumn 2013. The  school thanks each member of the governing body for their support and diligence in governing our chool.

The Governing Body comprises 10 members which include parents, Local Authority representatives, community representatives and staff members. It carries out its duties through termly meetings of the full Governing Body and more frequent committee meetings. There are three committees:

  • The Resources Committee is responsible for overseeing and directing the use of the school's resources, both financial and personnel.
  • The Outcomes Committee is responsible for overseeing the development of high standards in learning and teaching, including the evaluation of the impact of the school's conmmunication and interaction specialism.
  • The Pay Committee is responsible for making decisions, in line with local and national arrangements, about staff pay.

Please contact Tina Harvey if you need any information or are interested in getting more involved at the school's Govering Body by e-mailing office@perseid.merton.sch.uk

Our Chair of Governors is currently Tom Alexander, and Vice Chair is David Erridge, who can both be contacted via the main school office.

Our clerk is Sue Scully.

We take great pride in being the Governing Body of an inspirational, visionary and happy school. Together we work hard to ensure that we provide the best possible education for our pupils. Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. We hope it gives you a taste of the spirit of our school, what we do and why we do it, and that you will be as inspired by our pupils, our staff and our school as we are.

Tom Alexander, Chair of Governors
