  • Monday 15 April 2024 NHM Pilot Programme Upper Key Stage 2 were very lucky to have a visit from the Natural History Museum before the end of term.
  • Tuesday 9 April 2024 Upper School Careers Week At Perseid School, we are dedicated to providing every pupil with the highest quality careers education, which is pupil-centric, raises aspirations for life, encourages independence, builds confidence and empowers all pupils to plan and prepare for adulthood. Our personalised approach to careers education aims to inspire the potential of every pupil and support every individual to discover their best next step.
  • Thursday 4 April 2024 Red Nose Day Our annual Red Nose Day celebrations saw Upper School Parliament organise a whole school vote to decide on the fundraising activities – and they voted for a movie afternoon! At Lower School, pupils wore red or pyjamas, before decorating delicious cakes and welcoming parents in for a cake and juice afternoon. Collectively we raised over £200 for this fantastic cause, and would like to thank our families for their ongoing support.
  • Wednesday 27 March 2024 Partnership Production with Kings College Wimbledon Pupils across KS4 and 6th form have been working together over the last two terms as they prepared for the Partnership Production with Kings College Wimbledon.
  • Monday 18 March 2024 Sixth Form at Cannizzaro Park During the Spring term, 6th Form classes Dali and Kusama ventured to Cannizzaro Park for outdoor fitness and trail walking, as part of the Sport and Leisure Curriculum.
  • Wednesday 13 March 2024 Merton Music Foundation and the Royal Albert Hall On March 11th, pupils from Upper School joined schools across Merton to participate and perform in ‘Change is Coming’ at the Royal Albert Hall, in partnership with Merton Music Foundation and work alongside the wonderful Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
  • Tuesday 5 March 2024 Poppy Races for SeeAbility Poppy, whose younger brother attends Perseid School, has chosen to run the London Marathon and raise funds for SeeAbility.
  • Tuesday 5 March 2024 Blues and Roots The wonderful Blues and Roots Ensemble visited Perseid Upper School for our annual Blues and Roots event with the St Helier Cluster Schools. 70 children from Perseid Lower school, Abbotsbury, Malmsbury, Morden Primary and St Teresa's Schools joined together to participate in singing, group workshops and a concert for parents.
  • Wednesday 28 February 2024 Curriculum Our Perseid School Curriculum Intent outlines the key priorities for pupils at Perseid and reflects what is at the heart of our curriculum design which has been adapted to meet the wide range of individual needs that represent our pupils.
  • Monday 19 February 2024 Outdoor and Adventure Curriculum As part of their Outdoor and Adventure curriculum learning, 6th Form students at Perseid went to either Dragon Quest Adventure Golf or Jurassic Encounter Adventure Golf centers, to develop their golf skills.This opportunity also provided students with access to the community, and utilised their skill builders learning, as students engaged in conversations with the office staff about work development and their jobs.

  • Thursday 8 February 2024 Poppy runs for SeeAbility Poppy, whose younger brother attends Perseid School, has chosen to run the London Marathon and raise funds for SeeAbility. Below, Poppy shares in her own words why she has chosen to race and fundraise for SeeAbility.
  • Tuesday 6 February 2024 The MSSP Boccia Championships On Friday 26th January, Perseid pupils from KS3 and Sixth Form took part in the MSSP Boccia Championships, in partnership with the Merton School Sport Partnership.
  • Thursday 1 February 2024 Upper School Parliament Feedback Upper School Parliament took part in a feedback questionnaire this month. We were thrilled to learn more about their experience, and to hear their thoughtful suggestions or the school and contributions on what else we could do to improve, for all. Check it out!
  • Thursday 25 January 2024 Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) Last term, the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) came to work with Upper School Parliament. They worked with Tess and Lydia to develop a pledge for the school on how we can help the environment and climate change. School Parliament will be using the knowledge they learned to develop a poster to remind themselves and their peers of the things they can do to help protect our planet!
  • Monday 15 January 2024 In the Rainforest Parrot Class have been enjoying their new Creative Curriculum topic of The Rainforest. Pupils have been exploring the different sounds in the rainforest, tried on some animal masks, crafted Toucan art, and identified animals! It has been a great start to the Spring term.
  • Tuesday 9 January 2024 A Visit from Robin Hood To celebrate the return to school and kick start 2024, pupils enjoyed our annual tradition of a panto, on the first day back. Lower and Upper school were very excited to welcome Shooting Star Entertainments for a Pantomime performance of Robin Hood. Pupils really enjoyed the engaging show, which was filled with songs, silliness and lots of jokes. It was a lovely start to the Spring Term!

  • Thursday 21 December 2023 Winter Market Pets as Therapy (PAT) is an approach where animals are utilised to calmly promote positive wellbeing across a range of settings. At Perseid, this previously included pupils taking the dogs for walks in the grounds, caring for them, reading stories and talking to them. This initiative supports communication, language, social/emotional development and well-being and we are already seeing positive impacts. Our existing animal based provision includes our resident Lower School pet rabbits Comet and Star and KS3 horse-riding lessons at Diamond Riding Centre.

  • Thursday 14 December 2023 The National Autistic Society Following a two day visit from two National Autistic Society Consultants, in March 2023, we were please to maintain our Autism Accreditation Award in recognition of the good autism practice provided for our autistic learners.
  • Wednesday 13 December 2023 Learning with the Police Last week, our safer schools police officers visited Upper School. They had a tour of the school and then the pupils had a work encounter experience where they asked questions about the job role, the skills they need to fulfil their role and where they gained the knowledge to fulfil their role.

  • Monday 30 October 2023 Introducing our new Head Pupil! Following his thorough job role application and successful interview, Albino has made an awesome start as Head Pupil. This is a great opportunity for Albino to develop his essential skills and take responsibility fulfilling an important role within the Upper School setting and he is already doing an amazing job.
  • Wednesday 25 October 2023 Silver Kite Mark The Kitemark, a nationally recognised award, rewards schools for their commitment to, and development of, PE, school sports clubs and competitions. Well done to each and every child that has represented Perseid School this year throughout the sporting calendar, your achievements have played a big part in us gaining the Silver Award.

  • Tuesday 17 October 2023 Sport and Leisure Outdoor Lessons 6th Form Kusuma and Dali Class ventured to Morden Recreational Park, for Sport and Leisure outdoor fitness lessons and trail walking.
  • Monday 9 October 2023 Jack Petchey Awards On Monday 3rd October, Lead Practitioner and 6th Form Teacher Louise, Upper School Assistant Headteacher Rebecca and Executive Headteacher Fiona accompanied three of our KS4 and 6th Form pupils to collect their Jack Petchey awards at the Polka Theatre.
  • Wednesday 4 October 2023 Carrot Harvest Ladybird pupils have been busy with an exciting carrot harvest after sowing the seeds last year in the edible garden. We’ve also spotted some raspberries that are ready to eat!
  • Friday 29 September 2023 Starfish Class go to Morden Library Starfish (KS1) class went on their first trip of the academic year to visit Morden Library as part of their Learning Outside the Classroom curriculum! The class were lucky with the good weather and had a very successful trip to the library, sharing books with adults, exploring the soft play equipment and enjoying the bubble tube. Starfish class aim to develop their skills over the year to become more confident out and about in public.
  • Thursday 21 September 2023 Forest School Pupils across the Lower School have been spending time outside exploring the Forest School area and Edible Garden with Josie, the new Forest School Lead. We’re all particularly excited with how colourful the Forest School is looking at the moment with the growth of our wildflowers!
  • Monday 18 September 2023 Write Here, Write Now with the Polka Theatre Last term, Tiger Class have had the opportunity to take part in the Polka Theatre's Write Here, Write Now Project and on Friday attended their Celebration Event! They got to perform in a theatre to their parents, friends and other local schools.
