Aiming High

A pupil in Reception has been ‘aiming high’ with his reading this week.

He has been able to turn the pages of his book independently and has been so enthusiastic to explore different texts both independently and alongside familiar adults.

In the Ladybird Department the children have access to a wide range of high-quality texts which are available both within the environment and during structured reading sessions.

These texts include favoured, high quality picture books, non-fiction texts linked to our themes and a range of age appropriate magazines.

We hope to inspire our youngest pupils to develop a love of reading that stays with them throughout their time at Perseid and beyond!
