Calder Department
The pupils of the Calder Department have greatly enjoyed the first half of the spring term. They have engaged in a range of weekly activities, including rebound therapy, swimming, horticulture, and leisure opportunities, all of which have supported both their physical and emotional development.
In addition, the department has enjoyed food exploration sessions. These sessions are focused on the English text of the term, with students engaging their senses through smelling, tasting, and touching the ingredients. After exploring the ingredients, they have the opportunity to bake a dish and then taste the results. This hands-on, sensory approach fosters creativity and provides an enjoyable and immersive learning environment for all students.
