Characteristics of Effective Learning

Within EYFS, we frequently focus on the ‘Characteristics of Effective Learning’ to support children’s development.

The Characteristics of Effective Learning describe the behaviours that children use in order to be learning, one of which is Playing and Exploring, which one of our Nursery pupils was exploring brilliantly, back in March!

Within the ‘Playing and Exploring’ area of focus we support pupils to explore and find out about the world around them, play with the things they already know and to have a go at developing new skills and playing with new resources.

This pupil has been working very hard and engaging in some wonderful play and exploration this week! He has been working hard to make and communicate his choices, to reach and grasp for different trains and to continue to develop his own interests and likes during play with age-appropriate resources!
