Duke of Edinburgh
Y14 pupils have worked hard towards their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award across the academic year.
They have engaged in learning experiences focused on the four areas of the award which include volunteering, skills development and expedition. Volunteering has included work in the school community, developing physical skills in sport and leisure, MOVE and Physiotherapy activities.
Candidates have explored food and cooking experiences and learned about keeping safe, cooking and camping equipment as they prepared for their expeditions. Expeditions included an onsite camp day and residential extension experience at Bentley Copse Outdoor Education Centre.
The DofE Bronze Award is a well-established and very valuable opportunity for pupils to engage in an award that is recognised nationally.
Pupils will be invited to the annual Merton Awards Evening in early 2025 to receive their awards.
