EYFS Welcome Party

On Monday 7th September 2022, parents, guardians and pupils from Butterfly and Ladybird Class were invited to a welcome party.                                                                                                                                                    For Butterfly Class, the party provided the ideal opportunity for pupils to meet their new peers and for parents to mingle and speak with other parents and staff. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed the event, and it was fantastic to see pupils exploring their new learning environment.  Nursery also welcomed three new pupils this year, all of whom made it to the party and the staff were excited to warmly welcome them to the school for the first time.                                                                                                                                                                                                                  The party included lots of different activities set up for the children to discover, in the classrooms, continuous provision areas and playground, ranging from messy play with sand pits and water trays, to sensory trays with died rice, sea creature toys and games in our dedicated sensory areas.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        For returning pupils, they had the opportunity to meet their teacher, see their new classrooms and build relationships with their peers. Hosting the welcome party is an excellent way to allow pupils to familarise themselves with everyone and the setting after a long summer break, to alleviate any nervous feelings. New parents were also very happy with the party as they were at ease with what to expect, had any questions addressed and answered and they enjoyed the environment and how their child explored freely.
