Perseid School

Link Visits from Mainstream Peers

Over the summer holidays, we take time to reflect on key aspects of our school provision and the summer term.

Student volunteers from local mainstream schools join various classes on a weekly basis.  They have various responsibilities from mentoring a Perseid learner to general classroom support.  They bring a positive peer influence, leading to improved social skills, increased self-esteem and broadening the breadth of experience of Perseid the pupils.  This term students from King's College and Wimbledon High volunteered.

On 19 May a special visit took place from a group of Year 6 Abbotsbury pupils.  They met with Perseid pupils, and the groups had a shared experience of primary school ending and moving on.  They talked about their experiences including for example the residential visit/campout day.
