Perseid School

NHM Pilot Programme

Upper Key Stage 2 were very lucky to have a visit from the Natural History Museum before the end of term.

UKS2 are taking part in a pilot programme that the Museum are running, to develop their learning opportunities for people with disabilities. The Natural History Museum will be visiting Perseid Lower School this half term as part of our Creative Curriculum Topics - Africa and Minibeasts. These visits are to inform, develop and design their bespoke learning workshops, which we will be invited back to attend in the Summer Term, when their outdoor gardens open.

Victor and Emily came and visited Parrot, Monkey and Elephant Class and shared with them some African Artefacts. It was amazing to see pupils engaging with Animal Skulls, Animal Skins and Animal Teeth! They were really engaged by the different textures and exploring the bones.

We look forward to welcoming the Victor and Emily to Perseid soon, with a focus on our next topic of Minibeasts and hopefully a visit to the Museum too!
