Our School Development Plan
Every year our in-depth School Development Plan is filled with exciting projects and actions to ensure our school continues to be exceptional in its teaching and learning provision.
This year is no exception and amongst our exciting initiatives are:
· A Zones of Regulation Practice Review to ensure our Zones curriculum is doing what we want it to do for all pupils across both sites.
· The expansion of the Lower School to provide a new EYFS Department, integrated Music Room for all primary pupils and a second Hall to accommodate our increasing pupil numbers (read on for more information!)
· A cross curriculum symbol support review to ensure that all symbols are consistent across the school in absolutely all contexts to ensure ease of use for all pupils.
· A printed Curriculum Booklet about our Adapted Curriculum for families, friends and visitors to ensure we best communicate adapted curriculum provision at Perseid.
· Ensuring that Perseid parent voice is heard loud and clear in the LBM Short Breaks Review.
As you know, integrated inter- disciplinary work is crucial in best practice and we are fortunate in this practice to have a Perseid Curriculum Committee chaired by Emma Westwood, Assistant
Headteacher, with membership including the clinical leads for therapy, psychology and nursing. Together we work for integrated provision and ground breaking initiatives.
We are very fortunate to be a research rich, evidence-based organisation and our SDP clearly reflects the outstanding dissertation work our specialist teachers have recently achieved during their Master’s degree studies. This year particular thanks go to Lead Practitioner Camilla Cronin Reay and Senior Teachers Kirsty MacLaren and Nicola Woodward.
