Here we take the opportunity to look back on the highlights and outcomes of key aspects of the pupil experience and curriculum at Perseid School, Summer 2023. 

Outdoor Learning

Outdoor learning is a key part of the school curriculum. Outdoor learning is proven to be beneficial to pupil wellbeing and readiness to learn, improving  overall quality of life and school experience. Outdoor learning at Perseid increases pupils’ opportunities to develop skills beyond the classroom to help prepare for life beyond school.

Last term, we held our day-camp curriculum offer, officially opened our Woodland Area at Lower School, attended successful workshops at Modern Library to meet, touch and feed animals, reptiles and amphibians in the mobile zoo. Year 14 pupils completed the final section of their Duke of Edinburgh Award by taking part in a one-night, two-day expedition to Bentley Copse Outdoor Learning centre in Guildford, where pupils took part in orienteering activities, cooked dinner and breakfast and camped overnight in a tent.
