Sixth Form students take on the Lexus Tennis open!
Some of our Sixth Form students enjoyed an unforgettable trip to the Lexus Tennis Open, travelling with support on two public buses to and from the venue, building confidence, resilience and independence along the way.The day included an exclusive tour of the AELTC Wimbledon Qualifying Grounds in Roehampton, where students gained a fascinating insight into the world of professional tennis. They also watched inspiring wheelchair tennis matches before being invited onto the courts themselves for an hour of coaching with expert coaches!
The visit supported several of our Preparing for Adulthood (PfA) outcomes, including:
🎾 Developing independence using public transport.
🎾 Building confidence and communication skills in a new environment.
🎾 Promoting healthy, active lifestyles through participation in sport.
🎾 Exploring community opportunities and broadening aspirations.
🎾 Working together, showing resilience and trying new experiences.
A fantastic day full of new experiences, teamwork and memorable opportunities—well done to everyone involved!
