Perseid School

Sports Week

The last week of June marked our annual Upper School Sports Week, and this year pupils were truly treated to an exciting experience as they met with Scottish Gymnast and Gold Commonwealth winner Steve Frew, who led a fitness circuit and assembly for pupils. Pupils were sponsored by families and friends to participate in the fitness circuit; and a number of pupils raised between £5-£15; one of our Year 8 pupils Ellie raised a phenomenal £150 and we would like to say a very special thank you and well done to her.

Throughout the week, pupils learnt about the importance of sports and exercise in their maths, English and science classes, and it was fantastic to see pupils applying the knowledge learnt in class, to their sporting activities beyond the classroom. On Tuesday, pupils participated in lots of competitive sports in their class groups in Sports Day and many ventured on inspiring trips to Twickenham Rugby stadium, Oval Cricket Stadium, Stamford Bridge and our local park to learn more.

In addition, Upper pupils on the MOVE programme participated in a range of sports activities including Boccia, Bowling & an obstacle race & were supported in a range of positions based on their MOVE strategies & targets and it was great to use Panathlon equipment in helping pupils achieve this.
