Summer Term Report: Citizenship/Outdoor Learning
Outdoor learning is a key part of the school curriculum. Outdoor learning is proven to be beneficial to pupil wellbeing and readiness to learn, improving their overall quality of life and school experience. Outdoor learning at Perseid increases our pupils’ opportunities to develop skills beyond the classroom that will help prepare them for life beyond school. Not to mention they also have lots of fun!
Lower
This term, the students have been taking full advantage of our forest school area, especially with the improved weather. They've enthusiastically embarked on bug hunts, keenly observed various flowering plants, and eagerly sown seeds. Additionally, numerous classes have ventured offsite to places like Morden Rec Park, Morden Hall Park, and the local library. Students have been honing fundamental skills such as building rivers and shelters, as well as delving into the exploration of their immediate surroundings. Furthermore, two classes have taken on the responsibility of caring for our school's beloved rabbits, Comet and Star. Through this experience, these students are learning valuable lessons in accountability and pet care
