Upper School Book Club
Six of our older students at Upper School take an active part in a well-established and active discussion group which runs on Friday lunchtimes. Book Group is run by our Associate Headteacher (Fiona) and Family Support Worker (Tracey). Collectively, we reflect on themes of student safety and well-being, with text content based largely on books published in the 'Books Beyond Worlds' series (RCPsych Publications, St George's, University of London). The group engage in interesting and lively chats, dealing with key issues such as making friends, speaking up for ourselves, bereavement, health issues and relationships.
Books Beyond Worlds is a charity set up by Baroness Sheila Hollins, Professor of Psychiatry of Learning Disability at St Georges Hospital Medical School.
