Upper School Playground

Following the school questionnaire last term, School Council members raised improvements with the Upper School playground, which were written into the School Council Development Plan. Members went on a tour of the playground with Assistant Headteacher Kim to assess the areas and share their ideas. In the last Council meeting, members were shown an initial plan for the outdoor area which they were thrilled with. Ideas for a climbing structure were shared and wood was used to create a model of the proposed climbing structure. Pupils discussed how they could make it accessible for all pupils, showing great understanding of their role and responsibilities as members of School Council.

We are excited to now embark on a substantial fundraising project for the next phase. Proposed plans include a scooter park, climbing wall and structures, seating for relaxation and an outdoor classroom with yoga deck. We would like to hear from any parents who may have fundraising contacts willing to support us as we need to raise in the region of £100,000 to realise the pupils’ full plans. We are extremely fortunate to already have secured the support of Banstead Downs Golf Club, who have chosen us as their charity of the year.
