Camping at St Ives Farm, Hartfield, East Sussex

Seven students and five staff from upper school attended another fabulous offsite camping experience at St Ives Farm near Hartfield in East Sussex. Despite the rain on arrival, which prevented us from walking to Hartfield village for lunch and having to take the bus instead, all of the students remained in good spirits and very much enjoyed their camping experience away from school. The weather picked up after lunch and was fantastic for putting up the tents, our evening barbecue and the night around the campfire. The students enjoyed a nature walk over the fields and through the woods, a wonderful barbecue and chicken casserole dinner, toasting marshmallows on the campfire and a cooked breakfast in the morning. All the students were supported in doing various tasks including putting up the tents, making their beds, preparing dinner / breakfast, washing / drying up and packing away equipment. This is an exciting offsite experience for selected students, which develops life skills and independence skills. Big thank you to all the staff that supported this wonderful experience for our students.
