Visit the Tower of London

As part of her prize for winning the pupil of the term Jack Petchey Award in the Autumn Term; Lorna kindly and enthusiastically took her friends from Red Pathway on a fantastic trip, to the Tower of London.

The day began with a bus journey and a ride on the London Underground which was packed before seeing the famous ravens at the Tower. We met a soldier called Martin, who recounted many interesting stories, including the infamous tale of Colonel Blood who once tried to steal the Crown Jewels! Lucky for us; he was caught, and we had the opportunity to see the 140 sparkling and historical jewels, used by many Kings and Queens of England for their coronation ceremonies, in the Jewel House.

This lovely day ended at the Southbank, where we were lucky enough to watch some tennis before heading back to school. Congratulations again Lorna for winning the prize, and well done to all of the students on the trip and they were a credit to the school. Here we have a photo of all the students with one of the soldiers!
